This is the disembarkation of the Villalcampo dam from a drone view

These impressive images of the Villalcampo dam in Zamora were taken with the Arachnocopter from Arbórea Intellbird S.L., an ally of Iberdrola in the development of new technologies for the inspection and maintenance of its electric wind turbines, among others. This synergy between both companies materialised with the construction of the EOL6 Arachnocopter. It is a foldable multi-rotor helicopter capable of checking the condition of the blades and storing information for their proper conservation.

The spectacular images, captured from the air, of the discharge of the Villalcampo dam capture the moment when the total discharge flow was 800 m3/s, between the amount of water released and the amount of water released. As can be seen, the function of the Arachnocopter is essential to obtain such spectacular panoramic views as this one and, in addition, to check the state of the facilities.

The Iberdrola reservoirs in the Duero Basin, as of April 30, 2016, stored 95.8% of their maximum capacity, compared to 90.8% recorded on the same date in 2015: 4,416.81 cubic hectometres (Hm3) compared to 4,184.82 Hm3 in the same period of the previous year.

Furthermore, due to the abundant rainfall in recent weeks, Iberdrola has increased energy generation by 68.1% at its hydroelectric plants in the Duero basin, compared to the same period in 2015. Specifically, the company has recorded a production of 4,688 GWh (gigawatt hours) in the first four months of this year, compared to 2,789.1 GWh in the same period last year.
